Another photograph from 23 October. This one is of an area that I posted in June, Pond. I had been hoping to revisit it when the time and coloring were different. I had almost forgot about it, but as I was turning up the path I turned back to check it out. I’m glad I did because I think that the fog and partial fall coloring made it worthwhile.
Another photograph of Brandywine Falls, only this time from the middle. I took numerous photographs of the falls and trail leading to it that day and as normal just getting to look at all those photographs. Not sure if my editing does this any good and I obviously blew out the highlights.
On 30 July I visited one of the local parks in my area in hopes to get some photographs of the man-made falls. While my initial thought was there was no good compositions, I decided to go back and look at them again. I took numerous shots of this log in the water and decided that I liked this one because it seemed to lead the viewer from the shore to the falls with the log in the middle.
Last week I went out to take some photographs of a falls I had seen about a year ago. I had hoped to try out some long exposures, but I could not get a decent composition of the falls, but I did notice this bridge downstream. I ended up taking a few photographs of the bridge and the water around it.
This is a photograph I took in 2018 during the same hike as my Waterfalls post. If you look in the top center you can see the waterfalls from the previous post. The rocks and the tree stump guide your eyes back towards the falls, but they also provide a nice focal point.
I was finally able to get out and take some photographs and try a few new things. The picture above is from the Monocacy River, which is by where I live. I had recently purchased a 10 stop ND filter and was finally able to try it out. The photograph is actually a composite of two photographs. The upper part was taken at an exposure of 1/100 sec to freeze the leaves on the trees as it was windy. The lower, water and tree trunk, were taken at an exposure of 8 seconds to blur the water. I then blended the two in Photoshop to get the final image. This was the first time I blended two photographs.
Another picture from our trip to Maine in 2017. While there we took a cruise with Bass Harbor Island Cruises and saw some seals along with other wildlife. This is a picture of a single seal laying on the rocks.
From recent hike at Antietam Battlefield. This is along Antietam Creek near Burns Bridge. Liked the way the trees were reflecting off the creek.
