Had hoped to capture some photographs of the “ring of fire” when the sun rose, but was not successful. I was able to get this picture of the glow from the sun as it came over the trees. You can just see the tops of the trees lighting up and the glow on the bottom of the clouds.

As mentioned in my last post we spent the second week of July out near the Shenandoah Mtns. The photograph above was taken on our last morning there. I was looking to capture the sunlight coming through the trees at sunrise. The sun was already risen and past the “golden hour”, but because of the mountains I was still able to capture some of the nice light. I also wanted to capture it coming through the trees.

Yet, another photograph from Acadia National Park from our family vacation in 2017. This one is from Cadillac Mountain and it was taken after sunrise, 8:10 am, and was looking easterly. You can see that Egg Rock Lighthouse and Schoodic Point are directly in front. I like how the grass is back lit and while I missed the golden hour, there is still an overall warm tone to the photograph. I hope to get back there some day and actually plan out my photographs, maybe be on Cadillac Mountain when the sun does come up. Thanks for visiting my blog.
