Another photograph taken with one of the film cameras I have inherited. This is photograph was taken on 12 July 2020, the same day and location as “Mountain Morning” was. I did do some adjustments to the exposure and contrast in Lightroom. The camera is a Ricoh Diacord G TLR and uses 120 film. I’ve taken a few rolls with the camera and have become quite happy with most of the results. I’m looking forward to taking some color photographs with it in the future.
This photograph of the Shenandoah Mountains was taken on July 12 in the early morning. This was looking south from a hilltop on the north side of the South Fork Shenandoah River. You can see the steam rising from the valleys.
As mentioned in my last post we spent the second week of July out near the Shenandoah Mtns. The photograph above was taken on our last morning there. I was looking to capture the sunlight coming through the trees at sunrise. The sun was already risen and past the “golden hour”, but because of the mountains I was still able to capture some of the nice light. I also wanted to capture it coming through the trees.
A week ago my family took a vacation to the Shenandoah NP region of Virginia. Spent much of the week hiking and driving along Skyline Drive. One of the hikes we took was to Lands Run Falls which is where I took this photograph. In addition on Friday morning while drinking my coffee on the deck of our rental, I saw this bear walking across the back lot. This was the second bear I saw, the first was crossing Skyline Drive, he was about 60 ft. away.
