Another photograph from my recent trip to Asheville. The garden I was in was just transitioning to fall, but there were a few roses left. The sun had not reached the few in this area, and they still had some frost on them.

Another photograph from my trip to Longwood Gardens. There were so many opportunities for photograghs.
So, started to review the photographs that I took while on vacation. I thought this one looked good, may have some others. It was taken at Jockey’s Ridge in NC on the Outer Banks. The original was in landscape format, but I cropped it to a 5×7 to focus on the center grass and show the different layers. While the dried plant was the subject, the dry sand pattern in front and the grass and sand behind it draw you though the photograph.
We went to the beach for a vacation two weeks ago and I had visions of great beach photographs to post, but it rain half the time we were there, so I didn’t take many photographs. So instead I present another photograph from the same day as Heron and The Couple posts. When I took this I was about 6 ft away and when I opened the image on my computer I was amazed at how good this came out. Again, I am very pleased with this lens.
Been a while since I posted, but wanted to post something newer than January. So I actually got off my butt and and got out a few weeks ago. Most of the trees and plants were somewhere between just starting to come out and already done. As the time of the day was mid afternoon I choose to look for compositions that either were side or backlit.
Had hoped to post something newer this week. I got some new photographs that I took this past week, but have not gotten a chance to look at them. So decided to use this one from September. Not a flower person so not sure what type of flowers they are, but as it was almost fall and these were still in bloom I couldn’t resist taking a shot.
Quick photograph from last Sunday. Took an early walk along the path near my home. Saw these daisies and thought they may make a nice composition.
Took this photograph on 13 March, while walking on the path behind where I live. I was looking for Spring colors and there were a lot of these yellow flowers along the river. Probably could have brought down the exposure a little as I did blow out the highlights on the flower petals.
Something a little different. Visited Monticello recently and there were lots of these yellow butterflies. So decided to take a few pictures of them.
