Fallen Tree

Nikon D7500, 16.0-80.0mm @34.0 mm, 1/60 sec., f/5.6, ISO 400

Took a walk on the path near my house last week in hopes of finding a nice composition. As the weather was overcast and we are in the middle of winter, I decided to look for some unusual tree formations. While this tree is obviously dead, the way it had fallen over and was propped up by its branches.

Balloon Ride

Nikon D60, 18.0-140.0mm @100.0mm, 1/100 sec., f/20, ISO 200

In 2016 we took a balloon ride near where we live. One of the cool things was that there was another balloon flying with us. While going through old photographs looking for something to post I came upon this one. I cropped it into a 1×1 format and made some adjustments to the photograph and came up with this. The picture was taken around 8:30 am on 15 October. You can see the fog and the some of the fall colors.

Sunset Over Man of War Harbor

Fujifilm FinePix XP130, 25.00mm, 1/180 sec., f/4.9, ISO 100

Photograph from July 2018 in the Florida Keys. I was down there with my son’s Scout Troop and we were staying on a sailboat as part of our Seabase adventure. Took this photograph at sunset from the sailboat anchored just west of Fleming Key near Key West. The photograph was taken with a point and shoot.

White Flowers

Nikon D7500, 18.0-140.0mm @140.00mm, 1/500 sec., f/9.0, ISO 250

Had hoped to post something newer this week. I got some new photographs that I took this past week, but have not gotten a chance to look at them. So decided to use this one from September. Not a flower person so not sure what type of flowers they are, but as it was almost fall and these were still in bloom I couldn’t resist taking a shot.

Marsh Grass

Nikon D7500, 18.0-140.0mm @18.0mm, 1/320 sec., f/11.0, ISO 200

Another photograph from Assateague Island National Seashore, this is on the marsh side. I was interested in capturing the yellow-orange of the marsh grass and the patterns formed by the grass and water. May have pushed the saturation a bit too far.

Ferry Landing

Nikon D7500, 18.0-140.0mm @140.0mm, 1/640 sec., f/8.0, ISO 200

My family and I spent Thanksgiving Week at Ocean City, MD. While there we went out to Assateague Island National Seashore, where we hiked some of the shorter trails. Above is a photograph of the building at Ferry Landing taken from the “Life of the Forest” boardwalk. Would have prefered a different sky, but still like that I captured the reflection in the marsh pool.
